Mirel bioplastics can be processed into single-serve disposables and a variety of food service ware items. Mirel’s injection molding grade can be processed into cutlery, tubs, caps, and closures. Developmental grades, including foam and thermoforming, are in development and can be used for hot cups, lids, and food trays. Mirel resins have been submitted for laboratory testing to support the food contact notification (FCN) of the U.S. F.D.A. program, and a complete FCN submittal is planned in July.
